There are a number of new law schools in the works, but otherwise 2009 has yet to yield any new ABA approved law schools.
ABA accreditation is important to a law school because this generally means the law schools graduates is eligible to take the bar exam in all jurisdictions in the United States.
Since 2004 the ABA has approved 12 new law schools. Some believe that by applying and attending newer ABA law schools that you might be able to obtain advantages that might not otherwise be available to you at more established law schools while, at the same time, not take the risks associated with a law school not yet ABA approved.
