TOP TEN SAW CHARACTERS...AND WHY (DOES CONTAIN SPOILERS)

Say what you want about the series, but there is no getting around its core fan base. They love the movies for more then your think its is worth. Basically, hardcore fans love the story and just there for the blood and gore. (If that isn't true, then you have serious problems)

Anyway, one of the things that make movie franchise interesting and iconic, is that they can introduce new and exciting characters. As well as bring back the people we all know and love. This has always been a major strong point in horror movie franchise in history. If you kill almost every character in your last film. You have no choice, then to come up with some more. A theory the Saw series has taken, and made even better to any horror franchise ever.

Cecil Adams first appeared in Saw IV. It is easy to see that this person is a junky. He is easily set off, and can threaten people at certain time. Despite all of that there is a little moral compassion within him. He doesn't intend to hurt anyone, but easily lets his emotions get a hold of his senses. When he ended up accidentally killing killing John's unborn child. He was concerned about Jill's well being, but also scarred of what he had just done. It is hard to see why or even if you has in compassion for anyone or anything. However, I saw a little bit of it within the film.

Jeffsaw_2 Jeff Reinhart is probably one of the most relatable characters within the Saw Universe. His struggle with the aspect of revenge after the man who hit/killed his only son while driving, under the influence. Was so haste-fully given a trail, and sentenced to only six months in prison. We first meet him in Saw III after he is already been consumed of nothing but hate and revenge. He is unable to see everything around him, and is neglectful of his failing marriage and neglected daughter. After he is put into Jigsaw's trap, he is given the hand of god, and will decide whether or not the people involved in the events that caused him so much hate will survive or not. Even through all the signs tell him to let go of everything and forgive. He is extremely and stupidly unable to do so. Which ends up causing his wifes death. As well as the unknown location of his daughter.

Lawrence Gordon is one of the most talked about people in the Saw Universe. Not just by fans, but also the large amount of hints and flashbacks hinting at his importance to the story. I'm not convinced that Lawrence is still alive anymore, but I guess I can't take out the slight chance. Lawrence was probably one of the defining characters of the Saw series. By the end of the first film he was willing to cut off his own foot, and shoot Adam. All because he was scarred for his family. If the scene doesn't make you pass out. You will probably end up what you would do in that situation.
7. Kerrysaw
Allison Kerry has appeared in all four Saw films. (At least her body has.) Her character is really interesting. Taking out her small role in Saw, in Saw II we begin to see that she is a person who is engulfed with in her work. She is obsessed with, not only, solving the Jigsaw case, but understanding who exactly John Kramer is and was before and after he became what he is. She spends her free time looking through all the case files of Jigsaw's crime scenes. Trying to place together the victims final moment. Her studies and understand of the way Jigsaw works, takes her to suspicious thinking when Amanda starts to take over Jigsaw's legacy. This eventually leads to her capture. During her trap, her knowledge of what is to come, keeps her from not acting on the orders she is given. Sadly, her tape is rigged, so she can not escape if she wanted to. She is killed, and her death leads forward to the events in Saw IV.
6.Rigg2_2
Officer Rigg was a normal guy before almost everybody he worked with started to die or disappear in relation with the Jigsaw case. After Eric Mathews disappeared for a number of months. He slowly began to become obsessed with saving those around him. What he doesn't know is that Jigsaw is watching him. When it comes time to take his own test. Rigg seems unprepared for what is to come but willing to do it to save Eric Mathews and Detective Hoffman. The sense I get is that he has really grown within the time form the beginning of Saw II and the end of Saw IV. However, he has still yet to learn his main lesson. Which leads to him not only being shot, but killing an innocent man in the name of justice.

It is unclear to me, if Eric Mathews actually learned his lesson or even cared if he lived or died at the end of Saw IV. My guess is that he didn't care anymore. He had been held like a prisoner for months, and to his knowledge, lost everything he ever once loved. Yet, he did end up shooting officer Rigg, to try to stop him from entering the door. So, I'm a still a little confused on the matter. However after meeting Eric in Saw II. we learn that he is the shell of his former self. Which was a dirty police officer who framed a number of people for drug charges, including Amanda Young. He has a low temper, and is unable to win his first game with Jigsaw. But is able to escape the trap Amanda sets for him. After which he was taken and held for a number of months. Until finally reaching his death, due the mistake of his friend Rigg.

Detective Hoffman is probably the most mysterious person in the Saw universe at this point. While we figured out that he is Jigsaw's second apprentice  (Whether he came before or after Amanda has yet to be told. I think it could go either way, and not effect the story in the least.) Basically, every single question you could possible ask about him, has yet to be answered. Hopefully, it will all be throughly within the last two installments of the series. I think there is allot of ground that can make Hoffman an even better character of the series. Basically, all I understand is that he, for some reason, is Jigsaw's apprentice. He obviously had a role within the traps of Saw II and Saw III. He also wrote the, yet to be explained, letter to Amanda that Jigsaw knew about before hand. If you know the movies, and are a fan of then. You know that it will be decided in the next film if Detective Hoffman is an amazing or non-needed character to the series. I'm sure that the story behind his whole apprenticeship is every well done, and thought out. I just can't wait to see what it is.

Those of you who think that Adam Faulkner doesn't belong this far on the list. Well I respect your opinions, but I'm staying with it. I think that Adam Faulkner is almost as important to the series as Lawrence Gorden. Adam has been referenced several times in flashbacks, by Amanda Young. Adam is one of the stepping stones of this series. His appearance in Saw one lightened the mood, as well as added thrillingly suspenseful scenes. I am unaware of Adam's importance to Amanda Young or her to him. For some reason every time he is referenced, it is through Amanda in some way. After watching the deleted scenes of Saw II, It is easy to see that Adam is attracted to Amanda. In addition, Amanda would have known allot about Adam due to her apprenticeship to Jigsaw. It is possible that she killed him because somewhere deep down she was in love with him. And didn't want him to suffer. However, it is more likely that she was afraid he would escape and come after her. I'm not quit sure either way. I hope Adam makes an appearance in Saw V as a flashback. Along with Saw VI that will end the whole series.

Amanda Young is by far the most emotionally based person in the Saw universe. However, her story is extremely deep and unforgiving in its truthfulness. We meet Amanda as a scarred individual in the original Saw. She has lived through something emotionally and mentally scarring. Even through she should fully of hate and fear for her captor. All she says is that Jigsaw helped her. In Saw II, we see that she is training to take over Jigsaw's legacy. After her whole life has been completely changed, but John Kramer. (Her new father figure) We end by thinking that she has completed her training, and is ready to take on all the games ahead. In Saw III, we come to see that despite everything Jigsaw has taught her, she begins to go back to her own way of doing things. Until the point that we realizes that Jigsaw has stepped in, and gave her another game to play. This is very controversial aspect of the whole series. It shows that Jigsaw's theory, that "the knowledge of death changes everything. If you where to know the exact moment of your death. Then your world would be shattered, and you would look at life in a different way form even on," is exactly that. The fact that  his victims do not actually have to continue to die after they win. They can just as easily go back to their own ways at some point. This is an extremely interesting idea within the whole series. Which makes Saw III probably the best in the whole series.

John "Jigsaw" Kramer is the most important character within the Saw universe. John Kramer was a normal man before he became what he is within the movies. He was a very faithful man, and was a successful engineer (I'm going off of the movies, not the Saw Rebirth comic.) He was a happily married man to his wife Jill. Who ran a health clinic. He is a very precise person, and he planned his wifes pregnancy extremely carefully. However, when Cecil Adams causes his wife to miscarry. He begins to go off the deep end. Shortly after, he learns he has cancer, and tries to kill himself. When he doesn't die, he becomes depressed, and lets his business go to hell. He then decides that he will spend whatever life he has left testing the fabric of human nature. Too test the ones that silently call out for help. John's theory has yet to be completely proven within the series. However, that could be the reason for Hoffman.  It is also entertaining in the fact that John Kramer didn't exactly die from the cancer he had for so long, but in a game that he built for his death. Now that he is dead, and his work is still continuing. It shows that he is in fact the most powerful player of the game. I can't wait to see where they go with it.

ok in saw 5 i noticed something when stram went into the glass box room in that tunnel there were traces of blood on the ground this tunnel look a awful lot like the one under the nerve gas house and could be eric matthews or lawrence gordons blood traces.
