Amen, Chuck! As a future solo attorney (making the transition within the month), I can understand how one can get caught up in the perceived obligation of portraying an image of “success” - since the majority of the time that’s the only thing some of us newer attorneys have been taught. You get caught up in living up to that image you “must” project and ultimately those around you suffer because of your shortsightedness. Thanks for the insight…well said and aptly timed post for those of us thinking about the startup and sustained costs of running a solo practice…
