I Am Always Leary Of Sensations

I am still mostly down, with most of my tech having gone cablooy, but I did not want to be the only one not to comment on the Paris Hilton -- I mean, iPhone.

Now, admittedly I try to avoid sensations.  Sometimes I have bought in, having bought a Betamax, a laser disc player, and a Pet Rock in the past.  I have had my share of all night product binges, but no more.  I have learned that unseen hype more often than not just does not live up to its reputation.  Admittedly, nobody is better at it than Steve Jobs.

But, remember the misses of the past.  Anybody?

Two come to mind.  One was the Apple Newton.  This was Apple's doing, but not Steve Jobs.  Then of course the Power Mac Cube.  All Steve Jobs.
