I received an email from Chris Monaghan telling me that I needed to check out his billing application Time59.Com. As suggested, it is a web-based, mission-critical business applications suited for lawyers in need of easy and accessible time, expense and billing functions from anywhere. It is right for the Third Wave attorney. It is not free, but it is darn near so. It is only $19.95 per year, after the 30-day trial. The website is pretty informative. Take a look.
Also check out www.freshbooks.com - they just updated their interface and have some really neat features, including a client extranet and sending your snail-mail bills for you. There is some limited integration with Basecamp too.

To me,Time59's pricing is no hassle. Unlike similarly geared sites that have many price levels promising you more features the more you spend, Time59 gives you all of these features for one low price, pennies a day. Use it for one client or hundreds. You always have the right price plan-one price plan- for pennies a day.
