Does applying to a for-profit law school offer more of a feeling that you are applying for a job? I do not know the answer.
But, I have come to find another for-profit law school in which you might be interested.
The Charleston School of Law located in the historic city, and tourist attraction, of Charleston, South Carolina.
In 2002, prominent Charleston judges and attorneys started to work on establishing a new law school in Charleston, and in 2003, the South Carolina Commission on Higher Education granted a license to allow the Charleston School of Law to start accepting students in the fall of 2004.
In South Carolina, only graduates of ABA accredited law schools are permitted to sit for the bar exam. Although delayed, Charleston School of Law was finally granted provisional accreditation just in time for its first graduating class on December 2, 2006. The law school is now working toward full accreditation.
On May 19, 2007, the Charleston School of Law graduated its first class of 186 students at a ceremony held at the Citadel. These graduates sat for the South Carolina bar exam on July 2007, and achieved an overall pass rate of 69.9%. A little low, but not bad overall for the first graduating class.
