You know in Europe and many other places in the World today gas prices are much higher than in the United States. As a result less long distant travel, mass transit, walkable cities, and smaller fuel efficient cars are
the norm. Now do not get me wrong. I do not want high gas prices. I do not like spending money. But, $4 a gallon gasoline might very well give Americans, including lawyers, a commute-ectomy. We, as a people, will have to stop supporting sprawl, air pollution, and increased gas consumption. It might be what will finally require most lawyers to stop commuting to work every day, and force law firms to send their lawyers and other employees home to work.
