Florida A&M University College of Law is one of the newest ABA approved law schools in Florida. They have built an amazing building in downtown Orlando to house the law school. Their architects posted this video of the new facility on YouTube. But, what continually amazes me is the staidness of most law school websites. Some provide you good information, and some do not. Some are graphically pleasing and others are not. But, by and large what they all lack are real life descriptions of the law schools and the life at the school. They fail to provide in depth virtual tours or videos of the school on their websites. Most are so plastic. And, it is a shame really because there are so many quality and qualified students that are first looking at websites to make up their minds as to where to apply. In this day and age most websites have the ability to cost effectively bring you right into the environment with video, pictures, podcasts, blogs, and to allow the school to be described in ways that are not pretense or artificial, but real. A good example is that this video is not readily findable on Florida's A&M's website. Do you not think if your school took the effort to raise the funds to provide its students such wonderful facilities, that they would want to show this off to alumni, other schools and future students? Do you not think that potential students would be interested in seeing what it actually looks like and how it functions? I wish that I had the chance to be put in charge in how a law school projects itself to the public. That public image would be a lot different.
