As reported on MyFox New York, Girl Scout cookie sales are down.
This begs the question, what is going through your ever-lovin' minds people?
I tend to blame this entire trend on Grant Griffiths who put down the thin mint cookie, which is just unpatriotic at best.
Regardless of Grants disrespect for the efforts of the Girl Scouts, what does the economy have to do with
the sale of these delicious wonders?
For example, Becky Santos, leader of Brownie Troop 74 in Barrington, said her group sold 300 boxes outside a Wal-Mart recently, down from 500 in the same location last year. Sue Cusack, the troop's co-leader, said she and her daughter also made fewer door-to-door sales, with some repeat customers buying one box instead of two.
Jan Arsenault of Barrington said she scaled back her purchase because of the economy but couldn't resist two boxes, "I almost made it by this table," she said at Barrington Middle School on Tuesday. "In past years, I probably would have bought more."
Do you just want to break the hearts and spirit of little girls?
Get on board people, get out of your houses and go buy lots of boxes of Girl Scout cookies. That goes for you too Griffiths!
I would love to do my part Chuck. However, my wife, girlfriend, boss and better half, will not let me. You will just have to handle this for both of us.

Chuck, this may sound unamerican...but I had actually suggested to the GSA they start (also) introducing a product less controversial (diabetes, etc.) and something more globally important like selling compact flourescent light bulbs. Imagine supporting this great institution and being able to buy in the alternative something which we actually need not just to save money on our electric bills but also helping a huge global effort. Of course, there are those who don't believe in global warming.....;) and would rather indulge in decadent chocolate and caramel covered pieces of confection...OK, I'm hungry.
