You know, it is an interesting word. Destinesia is when you get to where you were intending to go, but then you forget why you were going there in the first place. It often occurs during the working hours. We have all experienced it. You get up from your computer, go to where you keep your file or office products and forget completely why you went there in the first place. You come back to your desk scratching your head only to remember later you needed a disc or something.
I often call it getting side tracked. I get up from my desk to get something. I get stopped by one of my kids or otherwise distracted, then forget completely why I got up from my desk.
Have you ever run up to the grocery store and forgotten for what product you went to the store in the first place? I might have gone to the store to get ice and then come home with everything but ice.
It is very frustrating. You are almost glad that you work from home so others cannot observe you in such a mindless way. The older I get I call them senior moments. However, it probably happens less to me now than it did when I was 30.
I am here to tell you, however, that destinesia can describe your entire legal career. You go through law school or practice in a certain area of law for a number of years only to forget why you started out to achieve in law. You can figure out how you got where you are, but you cannot always remember why you wanted to accomplish in the first place.
An interesting proposition it is to try and go back and figure out what the original objective really was. It probably will surprise you.
