When lawyers think about opening an office, even a home offices or meeting space, there is always a concern about furniture and design. This is often complicated now by the lean toward green, the expense and the ease of putting the furniture together, or making furniture meet the space. Especially as to the trouble and expense of furniture, I have found that we all struggle with either buying the expensive furniture or the put together stuff from Office Depot, Office Max or Ikea. It does not take long to figure out that no matter what the advantage of price, the utter frustration of put together furniture is often too much.
As a possible solution to these issues comes the company Way Basics that makes eco-friendly furniture blocks called zBoards from post-consumer recycled paper, which can be recycled with no
waste when their use is over.
zBoards markets their line of furniture as "No Waste. No Rules. No Tools." zBoards blocks, which make up the furniture are put together using a super-strong adhesive tape. The furniture comes in a variety of colors, as well as light and dark wood grains, and the number of configurations seems infinite. The company assures us that the furniture is strong, yet it weighs 62% less than particle board. Anybody that has put togehter particle board furniture, much less has tried to move the box, knows what a relief this might be.
Especially in the basic series, the pricing seem low. A single cube for a shelving system, for example, runs between $20.00
to to $65.00 for a large shelving system. I like the playroom table set, which is pictured. It costs $119.50. And, they have colorful and cheap accents, like blinds, placemats and table runners.
All in all, the prices seem decent and the designs are creative, entertaining and whimsical.
You might think about giving zBoards a try.
