Michael Anderson

nothing is "free"

Luke

That's hardly a fair comparison. The $20 million donation UC Irvine received from Donald Bren just to start their law school is substantially larger than the approximately $13 million endowment UHLC has been able to raise from its 13,000 plus alumni since it emerged from the basement of M.D. Anderson. My understanding that U.C. Irvine's scholarships are also being raised through private donations. The real lesson here is that when a community really commits to making a unique contribution, the results are be immediate and substantial.

...and the 'design winning' law center? have you visited lately? Would you still be giving it awards?
